- Your Wedding, Your Rules: Finding the Dress That’s Perfect For You
When most people think "wedding dress," they imagine the classic scene: a long, flowing white gown with a dramatic train trailing behind, lace for days, and maybe a veil the size of a small parachute. But guess what? It’s 2025, and the only rule you need to follow is... there are no rules! Your wedding day should be a celebration of you — your style, your personality, and your unique love story. And that means your wedding dress doesn’t have to be traditional if you don’t want it to be. In fact, it can be absolutely anything your heart desires! White Is Optional — Not Mandatory! Sure, white is beautiful, classic, and symbolic. But if you’re someone who lights up in bold colors, why should you settle for ivory? Imagine walking down the aisle in a dreamy blush, a regal navy, a spicy red, or even a shimmering champagne. Color can add a whole new layer of magic to your big day — and it photographs gorgeously too! Besides, your wedding isn’t about fitting into a mold. It’s about expressing your true self. So if you feel like a lavender gown or a floral-patterned dress speaks to you — go for it! Your guests (and your partner) will be thrilled to see you shine in something that feels so authentically you. Long Trains and Giant Skirts? Only If You Want Them! While a dramatic train might be a dream for some brides (and if that’s you, rock it!), others might be thinking: "How am I supposed to dance, hug, party, and just live my best life in 50 pounds of tulle?" Fair point! If you’re not into the idea of being weighed down by fabric, short dresses are just as stunning — and way more fun on the dance floor. Whether you choose a sleek mini dress, a tea-length retro style, or a casual beachy vibe, your wedding look should allow you to move, groove, and feel completely at ease . There’s something undeniably chic about a simple, elegant short dress that screams, "I’m here to celebrate!" — not just stand still and pose. Comfort Is Queen Here’s the real secret: The best wedding dress is the one you feel good in. Comfort isn’t just a nice bonus — it’s essential. You’re going to be wearing your dress for hours, greeting family and friends, laughing (maybe crying), dancing, posing for photos, and eating that delicious cake you picked out. If you’re tugging at a tight bodice or tripping over a mile-long train, you’ll spend your day worrying about your dress instead of soaking up the joy. So choose a style that lets you breathe — literally and figuratively. If you feel best in something sleek and minimal, go minimalist. If you love a dramatic look but want freedom of movement, try something with a detachable train or a gorgeous high-low hem. Want sleeves, no sleeves, a plunging neckline, or a cozy winter cape? You do you, gorgeous! Elegant Doesn’t Always Mean "Extra" Some brides love glitz and glam — and that’s fabulous. Others dream of something understated: soft fabrics, clean lines, and a silhouette that feels timeless. Elegance comes in all forms. It doesn’t require crystals, ten layers of tulle, or a dress that takes three bridesmaids to zip up. Sometimes the most breathtaking bridal looks are the simplest ones — the ones where the bride herself shines through. Remember: the dress is there to enhance your beauty, not to overshadow it. Break the Rules, Embrace the Fun! Weddings today are all about personalization — and that includes your dress! Whether you’re planning a beach wedding, a rustic barn party, a chic city affair, or a cozy backyard gathering, your dress should fit the vibe and the real you. Want a jumpsuit instead of a dress? Fabulous. Dreaming of wearing sneakers instead of heels? Iconic. Thinking about a velvet gown for a winter wedding? Absolutely stunning. Craving a pop of sparkle or a bold floral print? YES, queen. There’s no wrong way to be a bride when you follow your heart. Ready to Find the Dress That’s 100% You ? - Say WOW to the Top: A Fun Guide to Wedding Gown Bodice Styles
What's your bodice style? Planning your dream wedding dress? Let’s talk bodices —aka the top part of your gown, the one that does all the heavy lifting (literally and stylistically). Whether you're going for Cinderella glam or ethereal woodland nymph, the bodice sets the tone. So let’s break down the different bodice styles and find the one that fits you like a fairytale. 💎 Structured & Stunning: The Classic Silhouettes These beauties are all about shaping, support, and that “wow” factor. 1. Corset Bodice Think: old-school romance meets snatched waist goals. With boning and lace-up details, the corset bodice is perfect for that vintage vibe—or when you want to feel like royalty. 2. Bustier Bodice This style is similar to a corset but sleeker. Often strapless with visible structure, it’s the it girl of wedding bodices—modern, chic, and subtly sexy. 3. Sweetheart Bodice Universally flattering and oh-so-romantic, the sweetheart bodice looks like the top of a heart. It’s soft, feminine, and pairs perfectly with just about any gown style. 4. Straight Across Simple, clean, and classic. This neckline is perfect if you’re going minimalist but still want that bridal elegance. 🌿 Soft & Flowing: For the Dreamy Brides Calling all ethereal goddesses—these bodices bring the whimsy. 5. Ruched Bodice A little gathering goes a long way. Ruched bodices add texture and gently shape the waist, giving a soft, romantic look. 6. Draped / Grecian Style Channel your inner Greek goddess. Draped bodices (especially one-shouldered styles) are flowy, regal, and made for a beach or garden ceremony. ✨ All in the Details: Textured, Beaded & Beyond These bodices are the showstoppers. Perfect if you're all about the sparkle and detail. 7. Illusion Bodice Sheer fabric + lace or beading = magic. Illusion bodices give you that delicate, ethereal “is she floating?” effect. (Spoiler: you are.) 8. Lace Appliqué Bodice Lace never goes out of style. Whether it’s vintage-chic or romantic-boho, lace appliqué adds that timeless touch to any gown. 9. Beaded or Embellished Bodice Bring the bling! Crystals, sequins, and pearls make this style perfect for a glam reception or evening “I do.” 🎯 Modern & Unique: Bold Choices for Stylish Brides These bodices are a little off the beaten aisle—in the best way. 10. Plunging Bodice Want drama without the drama? A plunging neckline (often paired with illusion mesh) gives you just the right amount of daring while keeping it bridal. 11. High Neck Bodice Sleek, regal, and perfect for winter weddings or fashion-forward brides. Bonus points for pairing it with a dramatic open back. 12. Square Neck Bodice A renaissance revival that’s totally having a moment. The square neckline is flattering, elegant, and very of-the-moment. 13. Halter Neck Bodice Sassy and modern, halter necklines highlight your shoulders and add a fresh twist to the traditional gown silhouette. 💬 So, Which One's Your Favorite? Whether you're into timeless lace or fashion-forward square necklines, there's a bodice style out there waiting to make you feel like your best bridal self. Think of it as the foundation of your dress—it frames your face, flatters your figure, and sets the tone for the whole look. Need help matching a bodice to your body type, venue, or wedding vibe? I’ve got you. Let’s build your dream look from the top down.
- Let's Talk Prom
Make Everlasting Memories @ Prom The Ultimate Guide to Slaying the Night Prom season is here, and that means one thing — it’s time to find the dress. Whether you’re dreaming of a sparkly ballgown moment or something sleek and red carpet-worthy, this guide will walk you through everything you need to know before you say yes to the dress. Let’s get into it 💁♀️ 📏 First Things First: Measurements Matter Before you fall in love with a dress online or in-store, make sure you know your measurements! We’re talking: Bust (measure around the fullest part) Waist (smallest part of your torso) Hips (around the widest part) Why is this so important? Because formal dresses don’t fit like everyday clothes. Sizing can vary a lot between brands — which brings us to our next point... 🔢 Understanding Prom Dress Sizing Don’t freak out if your dress size is different from your usual jeans size. Prom and evening wear often run smaller, and it’s totally normal to go up a size (or two!) to get that perfect fit. Tip: Always choose the size that fits your largest measurement — it’s much easier to take in a dress than to let it out. And yes, we have options for all body types, from petite to plus, and everything in between. 💖 👗 Fabrics 101: What’s Your Vibe? Different fabrics give off totally different energy. Here’s a quick rundown: Satin : Smooth, shiny, and timeless — think glam goddess. Tulle : Light, fluffy, and made for twirling — perfect for that princess moment. Sequins : Bold, glittery, and totally extra — all eyes on you. Jersey : Stretchy, comfy, and curve-hugging — yes, you can dance all night. Chiffon : Flowy and romantic — ideal for soft, dreamy looks. Your fabric can totally change the mood of your dress — so think about what makes you feel confident and comfy. 📏 Let’s Talk Length Not all prom dresses have to be floor-length (but we love a dramatic train too!). Here’s what’s trending: Mini & midi : Great for modern or more casual prom vibes. Fun, flirty, and dance-floor ready. Tea-length : A little vintage, a lot of fun. Perfect for a retro-themed night. Full-length : The classic prom look — whether it’s sleek or princessy, you can never go wrong. Bonus tip: Don’t forget to factor in your shoes when thinking about length. Heels? Flats? Platform sneakers? All valid. 🎭 Themes & Aesthetic Goals Got a prom theme? Use it as inspo! Hollywood Glam → Sequins, satin, and bold reds or blacks Enchanted Garden → Florals, pastels, tulle, and flowy silhouettes Masquerade Ball → Rich fabrics, deep colors, dramatic details Starry Night → Midnight blues, sparkles, and celestial accents No theme? No problem. Build your look around your personality — bold and edgy, soft and sweet, or totally trendsetting. 💫 Final Tips Before You Shop Start early : Give yourself time for fittings or alterations Bring inspo : Screenshots, Pinterest boards, TikToks — yes, yes, yes Be open-minded : You might fall in love with something unexpected Have fun with it : This is your moment to shine — enjoy the process! Need help choosing the perfect dress? Our stylists are here to help with sizing, fit, and finding the one . 💕 Now go get that prom glow-up!
- I'm not that size!
The age old fight of size is also a nightmare in the bridal business. Bridal sizes are so scattered between companies that you can fit in a size 4 from one, size 8 in another etc. Bridal, like many other dress companies still use standard measurements which can be great for those with no curves but if you are not a b cup, have larger thighs or a tummy you will be size shocked on the size your bridal gown will be. Bridal runs small, your street size 8 can be bridal 14, do not distress over this. Many bridal companies cringe when a size 14 and up come in, they know it's going to be a challenge to fit you and if you are above a d cup oh my. Let's get real, women are not what the designers want, so look for a shop that embraces your curves, and accepts you as the beautiful women you are. There out there and you will have a great experience for that special day of your life.
- Why hem my dress?
Every brides book shows a beautiful dress with a bride standing perfectly still. What is behind the scene is a model standing on a platform, sometimes hems pinned to floor to give the illusion of fullness that your dress will look like etc. In reality your dress will need a hem unless your wearing very high heels or are 5'10. Hems should brush the top of your foot when you walk if wearing a aline or full skirt and taper after the side seam into the train. Sheaths or fit and flair are a little different and usually done to customer preference. As a designer I recommend straight dresses hit at the top of your foot and continue to side seam then taper into train. You need to walk , move and sit in your dress, without the proper hem you can trip and fall, or damage your dress.
- Let's talk VEILS.
Hand Sewn Lace Veil Veils have been a tradition since ancient times were it was believed to protect us from evil spirits, or from the other tribes men stealing the betrothed. Wearing of the veil was also deemed appropriate to hide the look of a women who was given as an arranged marriage to a chosen male. Wow. It wasn't till 1840 when Queen Victoria decided to wear a white dress and cathedral veil that started the trend which has lasted till this day. So still following the tradition of women who walked the aisle as a bride makes every step we take down the aisle special. So think about the entrance you want to make or a trend you want to start and wear the Veil. Have fun or make it a wow moment. It's the day you will want to remember and the Veil will complete the look!
